I’ve gotten used to my chiropractor saying the power is on when he’s finished my adjustment and is helping me up from the table. I know that he’s referring to the fact that what he does in manipulating my spine into place puts my body in balance and creates an environment in which it can heal, and stay healthy since it’s been ‘tuned up’ and is now happily running on all cylinders.
One day it occurred to me that this statement summarizes what we are working to achieve in the process of healing from a ghost mother. We seek the personal power we haven’t had the chance to develop. We are making ‘adjustments’ to enhance our sense of emotional strength, in order to feel good, and at peace. When the power is on physically, emotionally and spiritually, our ability to make decisions and successfully manage our lives is greatly enhanced.
